Ahhh, Spring Time....

Stella and Rudi playin on the trap. Somehow I get the feeling Rudi isn't diggin it too much! My favorite lil goof ball! Rudi kept coming at me trying to lick the camera but I was too quick! HA :) I can't quite tell if he's giving me the evil eye or the " mooomm stop taking pictures" look! Puppy eyes! After Stella and I got home from her piano lesson today we made a mad dash for the trampoline and to try and catch the last bit of sunshine for the day before homework and dinner. Everything is so green and blooming, fresh and colorful. I love this time of year. Playing outside with the pup and the lil one cures a long hard day at work! :)

Gangsta Tooth!

I had to take my poor lil bugger to the dentist today to have her spacer puller out. It's been coming loose around her tooth but still stuck deep in her gum on the other end. What we thought was going to be a quick and easy procedure ended up being way more involved. After a few numbing shots into her gum the doc went at it.... and boy did he go at it. Poor girl was sitting there wide eyed and whimpering while he was trying to yank this thing out from under her tooth. It didn't want to come out. Finally with a big yank and a scream out of Stella it was over and her gangsta tooth was no more. She was a real trooper and was excited to show all the kids at school her numb mouth and her freshly pulled spacer. I dropped her off just in time for lunch. I think she's going to need a little extra lovin tonight!

Weekend Get-A-Way!

Connie and I headed up to Vail on Saturday for a little getaway. Man, was it nice to get out of town and away for the day to day grind. It was a last minute trip that we decided on Saturday morning and we booked a room at the Vail Spa for the night. We packed up our fly fishing gear and headed west. We drove through some crazy weather but at the top of Vail pass the clouds parted and we had 60 degree weather for fishing. The gods were shinning down on us and it ended up being a BEAUTIFUL day. First cast of the year. Eagle River, Vail, Colorado. A little after dinner room service! Yummy! Vail was a ghost town and very quiet and peaceful. We had a lovely dinner at Terra and passed out in one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. It was a little piece of heaven . This morning Connie and I slept in and after watching a little Sponge Bob we got our butts into gear and headed down to the gym for a great two hour work out, lots of abs and lots of reps. After sitting in the ste...

LOVE!

I have anxiously been awaiting the UPS man all morning! We've been waiting on a few bolts for the forklift so we can get her back up and running. To my surprise the UPS man showed up early today (huge bonus) but along with the bolts we've desperately been waiting on, he was carrying an extra box with my name on it!!! I ripped it open and to my surprise and for no reason at all, I had some beautiful flowers all wrapped up with a bow and a card. After getting grief from all the boys and shooing them away I put the flowers in an old vase that I had at the office and wholah ! I love fresh flowers and I LOVE the foO !

Yummy Trees...

We planted two new trees at the house. A plum tree and a Stella cherry tree. All the snow is melting after our last snow storm and everything is beautiful, fresh, clean and more importantly green. The great part too, is that it's staying sunny longer in the evenings which means more playtime outside after school. Woo- Hoo ! Sweet Cherry Stella and Stanley the Plum! :) Rudi's new digs. Even the chickens got a new house! Hope everyone gets a chance to get out in the sunshine today! It's suppose to be a warm one!

Whew...

This weekend started on Friday morning when Stella got a snow day and an extra day off of school. We packed up our things and headed down to Connor's at noon for what was to be a fun filled weekend! In came more snow then we've seen in quite a while and it was fun to snuggle in for the night with a good movie, some dance moves, and a yummy pork roast. Arriving at Connor's house! The snow we've been waiting for! Bundling up for the ride to the grocery store! Stella bustin out some dance moves while we were cooking dinner! Snugglin on the couch watching a movie! Then came Saturday morning and time for an ER trip! I'd had a stomach ache since Thursday and Friday night was almost unbearable. Connor was a trooper and stayed up with me to keep an eye on me. I couldn't take it any longer and by Saturday morning we were off to hospital. Long story short.... I had a cyst rupture in stomach and it cause a little damage but nothing like a good dose of Daludin ( sp ??...

The Gloom....

Woke up this morning at the usual 6am and looked outside the window and got a big smile on my face. I called the school weather line and sure enough NO SCHOOL!!!! I headed up to the lil 'ones room and woke her up to give her the good news. She gave a big WOO- HOO , rolled back over and went back to sleep. I on the other hand had to put my self together and head down to the office. Luckily for me I only have a few hours of work to do and then it's play time. Love gloomy, 1/2 days of work! Hope everyone is enjoying the Gloom! A picture out my office window. No snow here but lots and lots of rain! Love it!

Phase 5 & 6, and a Fresh New Office!

I finally see an end in sight! All we have to do is round out the corner and the wall is DONE!! Well, I guess not totaly done but at least this part. After we get the corner done then it's on to putting on all the different types of patios on top and then the furniture.... but at least the hard part is done...all 140 lnft of it! ( happy girl) New coat hooks for the office. Big Lots for $2.99....can't beat that! Paul and Eloy made a new little table to go in the corner of my new freshly painted office. The institutional white walls were driving me crazy, plus all the dirt that was showing up on them, it was a daily chore of trying to keep them clean. I reorganized my desk and got a lot of the clutter out of there and into the storage/extra office upstairs. It feels new and fresh and I love it. I only painted two of the four walls in the office, and the huge window, it's amazing what a little color will do! Silly pictures but Paul was picture happy this morning.... Hope e...

New Mexico!

Connor and Stella in New Mexico on our last trip down there they are standing with Cortez exploring the new world! :) I just booked our tickets this morning for another fun filled trip to New Mexico. Seth (Connor's little brother) is graduating from high school so we are all heading down for a long weekend to celebrate. I think even Connor's grandparents are coming in from Massachusetts . Oh, and Chad and Laurie are coming in from London with baby Grant for the occasion ! Woo- Hoo ! We hopped online this morning and bought our tickets... $39 each way! Can you believe it!?! It's silly not to fly. It's cheaper then driving and only a two hour flight as opposed to sitting in the call for 8 hours! WOOT ! Stella is so excited!

Weekend in Rewind...

I know it's been a few days but my poor laptop has gotten sick! :( I have to take it in tomorrow and hope that they can bring her back to life! On the up side, it might be time for a new one? Either way, here we go.... Stella had Spring Break all last week and went skiing almost everyday! woo- hoo . She went to her dad and step mom's on Thursday to spend an extra day with them for her break. 3 days away from her and I really REALLY miss the lil bugger, but I'm picking here up in a few hours and I can't wait! Friday night our little crew of friends did dinner at Fontana Sushi (our usual sushi joint). After dinner we headed downtown for a little bar hopping. LOTS of fun but man am I feeling old. I was the DD just because I'm not a big drinker so I don't mind but it's hard staying up that late. HA! I don't know how we use to do it night after night. Oh to be young! Nah.... Saturday Connor and I headed out to Dick's Sporting Goods Complex to watch the...

Spring Chop!

It's that time of year again and I got the itch to chop my hair. I seem to do this every spring. I switched it up a little this year, instead of going to Fix (my usual salon) and paying and couple hundred for a cut and color, I decided to try something different. I tried out this new place in Boulder called Floyd's. It a barber shop. They do women's hair as well but I've know a few people that have gone in there and they always come out with a kick ass hair cut. I think I have found my new favorite spot. My hair is a little shorter then I thought it would be but I love it and it always grows out right? Pictures soon....

Phase 4...

I'm getting there. With the cold weather and snow this last week, I haven't been able to work on the wall much but today I completed phase 4. Woot ! Only two more to go and this project is done and on to the next. I can feel the months of sitting behind the desk have caught up to me but with each wall I build I feel myself getting stronger and stronger. About a month from now I'll be in prime rock lifting shape, and I can't wait. On another note... I took some random picture today after I got home while getting ready for a little dinner party we were having at the house. With Stella on spring break this week my mom and her went skiing together today. They had a beautiful day up there, very few people, warm weather and lots of snow. It doesn't get much better, I only wish I could have joined them but Stella and I got a chance to hang out all day yesterday and this afternoon. Herbs growing in the winter. Rudi's favorite new spot outside on the deck. Hope everyon...

Big Day...

Today is a big day for Western Stone Company. I've been working on a some project leads in the last few months and last week one finally pulled through. There is a show that is part of the Discovery Channel family called Renovation Nation. I had heard that they where restoring an old house in Boulder and needed a very specific type of flagstone. I did a little research and it was an exact match of the type that was on a friend of Paul's property . It's easy to look at a house and spot flagstone but flagstone is not always the same and this type they had on the house came from a quarry here in Lyons that has been shut down for the last 20 years. I pulled some strings (Paul pulled more), we put in a bid, and we got it! We were allowed to go in and pulled the rock we needed for this project. The truck stopped in this morning to pick up the rock and it felt great that we could pull it together and get our name out there to thousands of viewers. I think the episode is airing som...

Ronald McDonald House!

Today Stella, Connor and I headed downtown to the Ronald McDonald house. We were there on behalf of UMass Alumni Association , Connors graduate school. We met some wonderful new people and saw some people that we already knew. We prepped lunch and in came all the residence of the 2 nd floor of the Ronald McDonald house. Stella met a little girl named Sierra from California. Sierra has leukemia and her and her family arrived in Colorado a few days ago to start another round of chemo at the Children's Hospital. This will be Sierra's 3rd round. What a brave little girl. Stella and her played almost the whole time we were there which was for about 4 hours. I think Stella made a new pen pal. :) The rest of the afternoon was filled with Home Depot, Big Lots and TJ Maxx trips. We got some new things for the house and came home to make a great dinner and bake cookies. What a great Sunday!

Saturday...

I was expecting to wake up this morning with tons of snow on the ground and to my disappointment nothing. :( Snow aside, we had a kick ass day (although a little cold) Before we get into today, last night Stella and I went to Dave and Busters for a few hour of fun (HOLY SENSORY OVERLOAD) but tons of fun. Connor went out with the boys to a Mammoth lacross game. Being just us the two of us, Stella and I took the opportunity to do a little shopping. We stopped at Ross on the way home and found really a great little Easter dress, and a new skirt for mama. woo hoo ! Back to today. We had a lazy morning then got motivated and headed to the Natural History Museum for a little learning . Stella loves that place. We explored the usual exhibits they have there and then hit Natural Disaster exhibit which I've been wanting to check out since they put it up. It was very interesting and Connor and Stella learned all they could about fault lines. Whew...so much to learn, so little time. Af...
