blink...

Picked this out of Troy's library the other day and just finished it. It's a quick and easy read. Review: Blink is Gladwell's attempt to point out plainly and clearly what is going on behind the curtain in our minds. Our conscious overt decision making mind takes place "on stage" or in front of a mental curtin behind which lies the unconscious. And this book shows that the unconscious is far more powerful than most of us give it credit. This book makes for a very enjoyable and illuminating read, full of fascinating ideas and information. There is no explicit theory that Gladwell relies on, and neither does the book make any clear cut conclusions. This however should not be looked upon as a flaw-rather that Gladwell's sheer enthusiasm for genuine discovery and making these ideas accessible, makes this an extremely gratifying book to read. Gladwell is an immensely gifted writer, and his narrative skills are superb. This book is definitely worth a read.

We had a fabulous lunch and ventured back up the valley only to be stopped by the first road block. Luckily there was a way around the road block and we were well on our way. Of course we had to make a stop over all the bridges on the way up the valley and check out the raging river. It went from a slow trickle to this. The sound that was coming from the river was in...
