This weekend I was lucky enough to tag along and watch some auto cross racing. We were out in the middle of no-where, east of Denver in the flat lands. The weather was beautiful and there was plenty of action. We left on Saturday afternoon and made it out to the track at sunset. It was beautiful and with being so far away from the city, once the sun set the night sky was breath taking. Stars as far as the eyes can see. We unloaded all our gear, threw a few PBR's in our pockets and hit the track on foot for a little walk. I've never raced cars but I can understand lines on a race track. It's very similar to ski racing. It was fun to look at a turn and know exactly where I would need to be to crank through the turn as fast as possible. After walking the track under a starry sky (it was almost magic :)) we headed back to the trailer and called it a night. I've been meaning to write this blog for forever ( ok , not for forever but since July) and here I am finally getting around to it. On July 24 th this summer I turned 31, and for my 31st birthday I flew out to Minnesota to see one of my bestest , dearest friends in the whole world, MOLLIE! Mollie and I go back to high school some 15 years now (eek), and even though there have been times in the last 15 years where we lost touch with each other, I got in her car at the airport this July and it's as if we hadn't missed a beat in each others lives. I felt like we were teenagers again sneaking off to the bar, except at this point we are twice the age we where in high school and now both have kids of our own. Long story short I feel blessed to have Mollie back in my life. She once introduced to someone special in high school and being the sh**-head I was in back then I let them go but it's pretty incredible how the universe has a way of bringing things around full circle. ...
