Pictures....

I'm at home today with a sick little girl! :( Poor thing has got a massive cold and cough. I called her school this morning and they told me that about 1/2 the population of the school is out today due to being sick. Not good! But, hopefully with lots of TLC, tea, and rest she'll be back up and running soon. We've been doing tons of reading and playing board games, trying to stay away from the TV and being at home during the day has given me some time to catch up on a few things I've been meaning to do for a long time. Amongst all the laundry and cleaning the house I've been scanning old picture. From my grandparents wedding pictures to my high school years. Stella and I are having a blast going through all the old pictures. It's been fun telling Stella stories of my childhood and family adventures. . Like I said, pictures of my grandparent to me in high school This is me in 1994 in Moab , UT. On a school trip, sitting on top of the van while rolling down the ro...

Track Time...

This weekend I was lucky enough to tag along and watch some auto cross racing. We were out in the middle of no-where, east of Denver in the flat lands. The weather was beautiful and there was plenty of action. We left on Saturday afternoon and made it out to the track at sunset. It was beautiful and with being so far away from the city, once the sun set the night sky was breath taking. Stars as far as the eyes can see. We unloaded all our gear, threw a few PBR's in our pockets and hit the track on foot for a little walk. I've never raced cars but I can understand lines on a race track. It's very similar to ski racing. It was fun to look at a turn and know exactly where I would need to be to crank through the turn as fast as possible. After walking the track under a starry sky (it was almost magic :)) we headed back to the trailer and called it a night. We got an early start on Sunday and luckily it was another incredible Colorado blue bird day. The races started early and...

Birthday...

I've been meaning to write this blog for forever ( ok , not for forever but since July) and here I am finally getting around to it. On July 24 th this summer I turned 31, and for my 31st birthday I flew out to Minnesota to see one of my bestest , dearest friends in the whole world, MOLLIE! Mollie and I go back to high school some 15 years now (eek), and even though there have been times in the last 15 years where we lost touch with each other, I got in her car at the airport this July and it's as if we hadn't missed a beat in each others lives. I felt like we were teenagers again sneaking off to the bar, except at this point we are twice the age we where in high school and now both have kids of our own. Long story short I feel blessed to have Mollie back in my life. She once introduced to someone special in high school and being the sh**-head I was in back then I let them go but it's pretty incredible how the universe has a way of bringing things around full circle. ...

Mountain of Honor.

Saturday, the family and a bunch of other ski industry / CU Ski Team supporters met at the club level entrance of the football stadium for the placing and dedication of this massive piece of stone (pictured below). The Mountain of Honor has two members thus far, Bob Beatie and Bill Marolt . Both icons in the ski world and both former CU Ski Team members. Stella, Tommy, Dad and I....mom was taking the picture! :) Believe it or not CU actually won on Saturday. It was a fun game but we left at 1/2 time to hurry up to the house because Stella and I were having a sleep over with Randy and Espen . Once we all got to the house the two little one rode 4-wheelers and jumped on the tramp while we (adults :)) hung out and made dinner with my parents. What a great Saturday it was. We got up early on Sunday and had a very chill day, it was a great weekend to say the least. Hope everyone had a good weekend as well....it's now off to work on a cold rainy/snowy Monday morning! Love Monday morni...

Fishy Time....

It's that time of year again! Swim team practice started this week. I love this time of year, not only is it slowly turning into fall but Stella gets to hit the pool twice a week for about an hour and a half and swim her little butt off. She loves it! She rushes home from school, has a snack and I usually get home during that time. We sit down and do all her homework and then it's time to throw the suit on, pack her pj's and off to the pool. Swimming in the same pool Uncle Tommy spent most of high school in on the swim team. Always have a little extra time to do some dives off the board and swing on the rope swing. The great thing about Stella being at practice is that I get to get a pool work out in as well! My lil fishy! :)

Patience...

Patience.... it's some thing I have very little of. Everything in my life seems to be at a stand still and I'm waiting for it to happen. Case in point, my house. Yup, still waiting on the bank to get off their ass and sell me the house. I knew this might be the case going into a short sale (they say it takes a while) but I think I've been patient enough. It's time to get moving. I drive by the house a few times a day and it's just sitting there empty and screaming to be worked on. There are so many projects on that house and I want to start working on them NOW!!! There are a few other things on hold and not in my hands and I want them NOW! :) Ha! Sorry this post is turning into a rant but there are so many things good, great, amazing, positive things on the horizon and they are just within reach. Deep breaths! Patience is a virtue!....so they say. :)

CU vs CSU....

Sunday night Stella and I went to the CU vs CSU game in Boulder. It's the first time it's been in Boulder since I can remember. Typically I don't take Stella to this game because it's usually a little too crazy and not appropriate for a little kid. This year with it being on home turf and having club seats away form all the craziness she got to come along. We tailgated with my parents and all the usually suspects which is always a good time before the game. We met up with Espen and his dad and headed up to our seats. WOW did we play a terrible game! I think the best part of the game was the guy at half time running naked through the field while the band played and security chased him. We left at end of the 3rd quarter knowing that the end of the game regardless of the score was going to be crazy (and it was). The kids had a great time so the night was a success ! Stella ( doin her buffalo dance) and I hangin inside club level taking a break from all the madness o...

Labor Day Weekend Fun!

Saturday Stella and I got the chance to hang out with her buddy Espen . We hit Heritage Square around 12 and didn't stop for a single second till about 4. The kids rode the alpine slide, the Scrambler (makes me sick just watching them), Go Carts and a ton of other rides. With fresh tattoos on their arms we left happy and tired. The evening had a lot more fun in store for us. What a great day! Stella and Espen ! Stella hauling butt! :) Espen taking a picture! That's my girl... leading the pack. Hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day weekend and got to spend it with the people you love. :)
