Mucha....

I was digging through a box yesterday and came across a very large calendar featuring Mucha that my mom had a friend bring over from Prague a few years ago. Mucha is one of my favorite artists not only because he is a fellow Czech but also because I am a HUGE fan of his romantic, artistic style.  My parents have a few of his numbered prints in their house, maybe it's time for one or two in our house!  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alphonse_Mucha Alphonse Maria Mucha was born in the town of  Ivančice ,  Moravia  (the present Czech Republic). Although his singing abilities allowed him to continue his education through high school in the Moravian capital of Brno, drawing had been his main hobby since childhood. He worked at decorative painting jobs in Moravia, mostly painting theatrical scenery. In 1879, he relocated to  Vienna  to work for a major Viennese theatrical design company, while informally augmenting his artistic education. When a fire de...

sunshine fuels my soul....

OMG! What a weekend! We just got home about two hours ago from one big'ol whirlwind. We got up early Saturday morning and head up to Eldo (as usual) so Stella could train and Troy and I could cruise the mountain! It was amazing, the weather was top notch, the snow was incredible and the company was the best! We spent the better part of the afternoon on the bar deck with my mama soaking in all the sunshine we could get (and boy, did we get some)!  Nope, not happy at all!  ;)  Stella, her coach Montana and all her team mates!   My husband RIPS!!! Wooooo!  My laptop took a nose dive a few weeks ago (it SUCKED) so guess what this lucky girl got this weekend! Yup, a new 13inch MacBook Pro. It is of course for work but this girl is having a little fun on it too! We've finally turned into an all Mac family. iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks for all! Woot!  Meet Sir Ota our new fishy! Ota is a Czech word for prosperity....

here's to us....

10 hour days at work are kicking my booty, I'm one tired cookie. But I'm still keeping up with cooking dinners, laundry and all other things, family (I hope....thank you Troy and Stella for all the help!) :)  Sending out so much love and gratitude!

wiiiiiinnnnndddddddyyyyyyy.......

As expected we arrived at Eldora this morning to help out with another FIS race and guess, what?!?! IT WAS WINDY AND COLD!!!! Duh (hehe)!!! Eldora wouldn't be Eldora without the wind and cold so we come prepared. We stood at the start till about 11am till the race was finally called. So instead of saying "racer ready go" 400 times today I get to say it 800 times tomorrow!! Yup that's right, we are going to try at get off two races tomorrow for men and women...this should be fun! :)   You can't really tell from this picture but we had 90mph gusts where we were standing! Luckily we could huddle in the start house (fondly named Casa de Rokos) till it was time to pack it up and head down the hill.  We headed straight up to the little bar for some food, beers and bloody's with great friends! Woo hoo!    Right as Troy was about to shoot off a picture we got a call from Jordan!! Woot! She raced today at Burke and ended up 6th!! Woooo WAY TO GO JORDAN...

BOOM...

Troy-boy and I took the opportunity today to hit the hill and have a little date-day! We were predicted to get over a foot of snow last night but this morning we woke up to only a few inches of fluff. That didn't stop us from pulling out the fatty skis and cruisin the mountain all day. We dropped off Stella at school and scooted over Swan Mountain to Keystone.  My Rossi Fatties! Love them!   We only brought along our little pocket camera but Troy still managed to make me look good!    :)   I hate fuzzy pictures but I love this one. We look miserable right?!? He he,...like kids in a candy shop!  Mid day we took a walk over the bridge into Keystone Village to grab a quick snack and check out duckies we ran into. For as much time that I've spent at ski areas I can honestly say I've never ran  into ducks at the base of the mountain. They were pretty happy getting some granola from Troy!  Lunch of ...
