With Friday just a few hours away, I am already counting the hours till the weekend starts. This week has flown by..... We had our first big snow of the season (woo hoo), some really cold weather (-20 this morning), training, school, races, lots of work, and more importantly some play time too.  I finally finished the tree this week, I tried to keep it simple this year, I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out.   :)  The tree, the pirate frog, the traditional Czech straw ordainments and our happy little owl.  Some of my other favorite ones. Stella and her BFF Noelle decided to make gingerbread houses yesterday and I don't know how we got from the nice, neat box to frosting EVERYWHERE but there sure were a LOT of giggles in between.  Hope y'all had a fabulous week.  Happy Friday (tomorrow)  Love and Gratitude! 

Every year over the Thanksgiving Break I alway try and get the tree up and decorated. This year was no different except for one or two minor hiccups. I had to wrangle the 8 1/2 foot tree into place and in doing so broke the stand which ended up being a really great thing. I stopped at Walmart and didn't have any luck finding what I wanted, I drove another 10 miles down the road to Lowe's and found this gem below. A rotating tree stand. Best invention EVER. It made stringing light so easy.  Love this thing......I bit pricy (for a tree stand) but soooooooo worth it.   I kept it simple this year.  Hope everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving week. We spent our last day of break today in Beaver Creek watching the women's World Cup GS. It was amazing and Mikaela Shiffrin came in second. Lots of pictures to post from that but I'll save that for another day.  Sending out lots of love and gratitude!

I can almost taste it! Putting together my first full Thanksgiving dinner all by myself tomorrow. We've always spent Thanksgiving with friends and family and I've always had the task of side dishes. Not tomorrow!!! I bought a 14 pound turkey....I think it will feed the 3 of us!   14 pounds of yummy goodness!  I'm kinda of a pumpkin pie addict so I bought 2 one for me and one for everyone else!  I feel like I'm cooking for 20 people.  Men's NorAms kicked off this weekend at Loveleand with some heavy hitters (Euros and Americans) making for some really exciting ski racing to watch. Camera's ready in hand we started snapping away! Troy and my dad all in aline watching racer after racer. Awesome family time spent on the side of the hill. Of course Troy and I had a little competition as to who could snap the better picture.....he won! Non-the-less I got few good ones of my own! :)  The snow was crazy hard....  ....made for some exciting racing.   Warner.  The women raced in the afternoon. Womens NorAms kick off next week but yesterday we got to watch a bunch of juniors with the kick off of the NJR's.  Crushing it!   So exciting to watch a full day of some really great racing. It was dark and cloudy all day which made for some hard photo taking.....but it was still fun!  Ramping up to Thanksgiving this week. Lots of training, prepping and spendin...

Meet Noelle!  She's my 'second' daughter,  and Stella's BFF. Where Stella goes, Noelle goes, what Noelle does, Stella does. These two are like peas and carrots. They fight like cats and dogs but at the end of the day it's all good. I'm always looking for new recipes to cook. I feel like we get stuck in the same cycle of food. Time for something new. This mans light shines bright, he inspires me daily to be as awesome of a human being as he is!   So much gratitude...... A little birthday basket waiting for when he gets home tonight!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY LOVE!

I've become pretty comfortable snapping pictures with both mine and Troy's camera. Portraits, playing or doing whatever I click away till I get what I want. But........I want to get to the point that I can get the "money shot" of the kids ski racing (close to) every time. I think I'm getting there but I've been running into a lot of environmental issues. Lighting on the snow has been a bit of a challenge and unless you have some super, crazy high power, fast flash, each pictures takes some post editing time. Obviously there is always that optimal time of the day when the light is perfect but that doesn't always happen. Take for instance, I was on the hill last Sunday morning trying to snap pics of the kids and the hill and direction of the sun were all facing right at me (the wrong direction) because taking pictures into the sun is not ideal. I took tons of pics of the kids backs because that is the way the sun was shinning. All the shadows were not makin...

So, today marked over 1000 unique visits to my blog in a single day! Wow! Usually I hover in the 500 to 800 visits a day. Either there is a MAJOR creeper out there, or people are reading it. So if you're a creeper thank you and if you're not..... SUPER thank you!  Hope y'all had a fantastic Wednesday!  So much LoVe and Gratitude for YOU!

It was absolutely gorgeous on the hill today. I spent about 3 hours this morning taking pictures.  Here's just a little snippet of what I came up with.....
