Learning.....

I've become pretty comfortable snapping pictures with both mine and Troy's camera. Portraits, playing or doing whatever I click away till I get what I want. But........I want to get to the point that I can get the "money shot" of the kids ski racing (close to) every time. I think I'm getting there but I've been running into a lot of environmental issues. Lighting on the snow has been a bit of a challenge and unless you have some super, crazy high power, fast flash, each pictures takes some post editing time. Obviously there is always that optimal time of the day when the light is perfect but that doesn't always happen. Take for instance, I was on the hill last Sunday morning trying to snap pics of the kids and the hill and direction of the sun were all facing right at me (the wrong direction) because taking pictures into the sun is not ideal. I took tons of pics of the kids backs because that is the way the sun was shinning. All the shadows were not making it easy either. I think I got some pretty great pics of the kids like the ones I posted a few posts ago of Stella. What I really wanted to get some good pictures of though were the really fast boys training up above us Luckily I had our really big lens so I could take some pictures from down below but what I really wanted to do is hike up to the spot and sit right under that gate and snap away. Unfortunately that didn't happen so this was the best I could do. Someday I'll get there.

Don't know who this is and the pic is from really far away but the timing was okay!
The lighting is freakin tricky!

Work in progress!

The easier shot with sunshine from behind!

Happy Thursday!

Meaning To....

I've been meaning to post pictures of the finished wall at the office for a while now but it seems like every time I remember I'm either not near a computer or something else gets in the way. Well ...here it is, we decided not to do different patio layouts on top, those are going in a different spot but we did put some large slabs on top so we could display our furniture. Now, on to the next 1,000 different projects I have in mind for around here... only that's going to have to wait till tomorrow, the lil one is not feeling well so my mama went and picked her up from school and I'm heading to the doc with her in a few hours to get her checked out. Don't think it's anything major just chest congestion , runny nose but no fever. Nothing a little rest and TLC wont fix! I love the fact that everything is finally starting to turn green. Green makes every thing look better! :)

break #1....

Six weeks.....that's how long she has to have this thing on. It didn't happen playing pond hockey, it didn't happen skiing, it happen tripping down the sidewalk. I mean....REALLY!?!?! Much Love!

Ski Team!

A few weeks ago Stella started training with the Eldora Ski Team every Saturday. Now Saturday's can't come soon enough. I get up at 6 and get Stella up at 6:30 and we are out the door by 7. Usually we get up to Eldora around 8:30 after making a stop to get mama coffee and Stella and donut or two! :) By 9am Stella is ripping up the slopes with her coach (Dave) and 5 other little girls her age. She is having such a blast it's hard to believe we didn't do this sooner. I never noticed these signs before and thought it was pretty cool the ski area was showing some love to the local ski programs. Stella proceed to then inform me that they've been there for quite some time. Oops! :) Stella and two of her little ski buddies! Stella ripping up the GS course! At the end of the day which is usually at 3 all the kids have to help tear down the course. Stella is doing such an awesome job that it makes me one proud mama. Much Love!!!
