another great weekend....

We just ended another three great days of racing on our home hill here in Breck. Stella raced her first SG and all in all it was a very successful weekend! We had some beautiful weather, some fast skis and some great times.  Stella, Maya and Casey all smiles before the start!    At the pump house on Cimerron. I was one nervous mama with a few girls going into the b-netting before Stella but she did freakin great!   Speedy!   One last picture before her start.... listening in on a course report. I love that she loves racing so much!   Unfortunately Troy was on duty today on another part of the mountain but we were all smiles when we called him in-between runs with the play by play!  We have next weekend off with just training at home and then we are on the road again for a few more weekends of racing. I might even get the guest bedroom painted with a weekend at home. Woot. Hope everyone had...

WESA.....

We (Caamano) just got done with 5 days at the Denver Market for the WESA show. For those of you who don't know WESA (Western and English Sales Association) has a show every year that vendors of Western wear, from all over the world come to, to buy everything and anything cowboy (girl). It is an insane show with 1000's of vendors and 1000's of buyers coming into town wanting to buy or sell our product. We had a pretty great show even though we are not specifically or exactly western wear we have tons of cross-over pieces and since we have a permanent  showroom at the Denver Market it's a no brainer for us! Among the new pair of cowboys boots, belts and a few other goodies I got from the other vendors at wholesale prices (total bonus of this job), one of the things I got that I love is this business card form a neighbor showroom of ours. It's a sugar cookie that is so yummy I had to ask for another! :) I don't think I would have any business cards left i...

60mph......

We are in Steamboat this weekend for Stella's SG training camp. We started out the day on Howelsen Hill with the kids making one big turn at high speed from top to botton and working on catching air and pressing knolls. The second part of the afternoon was spent tucking the outrun of the nordic jumps while being gunned by the radar to track their speed. Stella's final run was tagged at 60mph. Some of the boy were hitting about 67mph, eeeek. Every time Stella came down she got faster and faster and her grin got bigger and bigger and my heart almost pounded out of my chest every time. I was a bit of a Nervous Nancy today but I was trying my best not to let Stella see that, I just closed my eyes every time she came down and breathed a sigh of relief when she was down safe and sound. I do love that fact that she is pushing herself more and more and loving every minute of it.  the grin....  Stella at the top! About to hit top speed!   Happy gir...

Happy Wednesday! Sending out love and gratitude!

two really great days.....

We just finished the first weekend of may great weekends to come. Stella had her first age-class race. We had some highs and some lows, a few tears but mostly major smiles. Stella raced on a hill that Troy and I both know well from our racing days and it brought back some great memories but more importantly this weekend made some new ones.   The weather couldn't of been more perfect!  Stella ready to roll. First run didn't bode too well for Stella. She ate it pretty hard and took out a panel. We had a few tears after the first run but second run she pulled it together for a great run. Love this little one, she rocks! Luckily Troy-boy was only on duty for 1/2 the day so we got to take a few runs and watch Stella's second run together! Love this guy!  One more picture from yesterday from when my mama was here to watch Stella.  Love my mama! Yay!  Back to reality this week. Stella starts school again tomorrow and I've got a...

a day at the races....

Stella had her first race of the season toady! It was a GS in Breck on her home hill, Cimarron! It was steep and icy (just like I remember it) and she rocked it. First run she had a pretty huge mistake but second run she let it rip. All in all, a great day!  The sun was shinning and the snow was hard, just as is should be on race day.    At the start!  All smiles before the start!   Racer ready, 3, 2, 1, GO!   Stella and her Babi! Thanks Babi for coming up and cheering her on!   Stella and her coach, Chuck!   Stella and Grace getting a pre-race pep talk!  Two gates before the finish! Go Stella Go!!  All  smiles after the race......success!!!  A special appearance and cheering section by some of Stella's favorite people! Nate and Elizabeth!  Another day of races ahead of us tomorrow. Hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend!  Love and Gr...
