Kiska's!

Dropped the lil one off on Friday afternoon at her dad's for the weekend and headed to Connor's in anticipation of jumping in the shower quick and heading to a BBQ at Puck's. Hurry, hurry, and nothing. I get to Connor's and find out Puck's BBQ is canceled (weird circumstances?!?) Anyways, Friday night free and what to do. Connor and I called up Megan and Robin to see what their plans were and they told us to grab some beer and head over to their place for a nice low key BBQ. We hadn't seen them in a while so we were on board. A quick trip to the liquor store and whal -ah! It turned out to be a great night with great friends....sometimes canceled plans turn into better plans. The Friday night crew! Adam and I! Yummy! Robin manning the grill! Megan mixing up a new recipe for mojitos ! Megan and Robin's new out door patio! Friday night lights!

A Little Extra Lovin....

Stella came home early yesterday from school with a pretty big sized cold, fever, and chest congestion . My mama made her some home made chicken noodle soup and lots of tea and with a few naps and some children's Tylenol , by the time I got home she looked like her happy, rosy cheeked self again. She ate a big ol ' dinner and we went and checked on the chickens outside with my dad and Connor who came up to hang out with us. It was a chill night and we tucked her in early for a good night sleep. I woke up a few times through out the night and went and checked on her and she was as snug as a bug in a rug. She's staying home today for just one more day of rest and to make sure she gets this bug out of her system. Babi (my mama) is staying at home with her while I go to work so I have no doubt that she will be a happy kiddo when I get home this afternoon. The lil bugger always crafting something! Thank You Babi !!!

Meaning To....

I've been meaning to post pictures of the finished wall at the office for a while now but it seems like every time I remember I'm either not near a computer or something else gets in the way. Well ...here it is, we decided not to do different patio layouts on top, those are going in a different spot but we did put some large slabs on top so we could display our furniture. Now, on to the next 1,000 different projects I have in mind for around here... only that's going to have to wait till tomorrow, the lil one is not feeling well so my mama went and picked her up from school and I'm heading to the doc with her in a few hours to get her checked out. Don't think it's anything major just chest congestion , runny nose but no fever. Nothing a little rest and TLC wont fix! I love the fact that everything is finally starting to turn green. Green makes every thing look better! :)

Texas!!

Thursday afternoon Connor and I flew down to Austin, Texas. We stepped out of the airport and it was like walking into a wet, heavy, hot brick wall. The humidity was something that I had forgotten about. We spent Friday driving down to Dallas to visit with some of Connor's old friends and he showed me his old college campus at TCU . We had a lovely visit with Ginnie and Justin and the twins. (pictures coming soon) They were the most adorable set of little girls I've seen. We stayed the night in Dallas and drove back to Austin on Saturday morning and barley made it to the church in time for the bride to walk down the isle (but we made it) :) The pictures to follow are not the best, they were taken with the small camera but I'll post the good ones off the big camera soon! The lovely bride and groom! The groom (Donnie), Julie and Connor Cake.... mmmmmm ! The reception was held at the Oasis overlooking the lake. It was beautiful! Connor and I taking the proverbial se...

Ahhh, Spring Time....

Stella and Rudi playin on the trap. Somehow I get the feeling Rudi isn't diggin it too much! My favorite lil goof ball! Rudi kept coming at me trying to lick the camera but I was too quick! HA :) I can't quite tell if he's giving me the evil eye or the " mooomm stop taking pictures" look! Puppy eyes! After Stella and I got home from her piano lesson today we made a mad dash for the trampoline and to try and catch the last bit of sunshine for the day before homework and dinner. Everything is so green and blooming, fresh and colorful. I love this time of year. Playing outside with the pup and the lil one cures a long hard day at work! :)

Gangsta Tooth!

I had to take my poor lil bugger to the dentist today to have her spacer puller out. It's been coming loose around her tooth but still stuck deep in her gum on the other end. What we thought was going to be a quick and easy procedure ended up being way more involved. After a few numbing shots into her gum the doc went at it.... and boy did he go at it. Poor girl was sitting there wide eyed and whimpering while he was trying to yank this thing out from under her tooth. It didn't want to come out. Finally with a big yank and a scream out of Stella it was over and her gangsta tooth was no more. She was a real trooper and was excited to show all the kids at school her numb mouth and her freshly pulled spacer. I dropped her off just in time for lunch. I think she's going to need a little extra lovin tonight!

Weekend Get-A-Way!

Connie and I headed up to Vail on Saturday for a little getaway. Man, was it nice to get out of town and away for the day to day grind. It was a last minute trip that we decided on Saturday morning and we booked a room at the Vail Spa for the night. We packed up our fly fishing gear and headed west. We drove through some crazy weather but at the top of Vail pass the clouds parted and we had 60 degree weather for fishing. The gods were shinning down on us and it ended up being a BEAUTIFUL day. First cast of the year. Eagle River, Vail, Colorado. A little after dinner room service! Yummy! Vail was a ghost town and very quiet and peaceful. We had a lovely dinner at Terra and passed out in one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. It was a little piece of heaven . This morning Connie and I slept in and after watching a little Sponge Bob we got our butts into gear and headed down to the gym for a great two hour work out, lots of abs and lots of reps. After sitting in the ste...
