Afternoon Coffee ....

For the first time in a while I had a cup of coffee (out of my favorite mug) this afternoon while doing some paper work at home. It was sooooooo good. I've missed coffee, but chai has been a great substitute . With the snow on the ground this morning I headed to the office, got a few hours of R&D in for my new division of Western Stone and took the rest of the day off! woo- hoo I took the opportunity to catch up on some filing at home and reorganizing my closet and getting rid of a few bags of clothes to Goodwill. I did the same in Stella's closet. My little string bean seems to grow out of her clothes pretty quick but that just gives us the excuse to go shopping together...something we love to do. :) Some pictures from the shop this morning, working on the drill press (pictures of new products coming soon). Working with a bunch of guys, I always get made fun of for wearing my rubber heart boots (I think they are all just jealous). HA! They are awsome for around the sh...

Spinning The Bad Stuff Away...

UGLY KNEES A few weeks ago while skiing with Stella I got hit from behind by an out of control skier. Nothing too serious happen and thankfully he didn't take out Stella since I was skiing behind her to shield her from people like him. Most people that know me, know that I've got some mangled knees. 4 full reconstructions of ACL's and MCL'c and a few Patellas plus a few extra scopes. My knees have held up over the years but since I got hit a few weeks ago I tweaked it enough that every time I go skiing now my knee swells to the size of a grapefruit. Solution: spin, spin, spin. Spinning gets ride of all the fluid in my knee without having to go get it drained and keeps the blood flowing which promotes healing. Here is where to spin bike come into double duty. Not only am I getting a work out but I'm also spinning away the bad stuff in my knee. Woot ! Stella was getting ready for bed and taking a shower so I hopped onto the bike for an hour ride. Here is a pict...

Catching Up....

It's been a few days since I've blogged and I hate getting behind. Not that anything major happen but I like the daily routine. Stella spent Friday night and most of Saturday with Grandma and Grandpa Larsen, that gave Connor and I the opportunity for a little date night and to have dinner with a bunch of friends Friday night for Amanda's birthday. We picked Stella up on Saturday evening and it was up to her to pick what kind of food she was in the mood for. We ended up at a steak house because she was in the mood for some steak, woo hoo ... good choice. We had a fun dinner then headed home for movie night. We ended up watching the Discovery Channels, The Planet. It was fantastic and fun for all of us to watch. Stella hit the sack at about 10 to catch some Z's before a full day of skiing on Sunday. We woke up Sunday morning only to have to turn the clocks forward an hour and miss an hour of sleep. We got up to the mountain and had a beautiful day of blue bird sky skii...

Stone Walls, Sewing Machines and Speeding Tickets..

Today was a BEAUTIFUL day and it gave me a good opportunity to finish wall 1 of 6. This first wall is made of red drywall, it's 3 1/2 feet tall and 14 feet long. Wall two will be tumbled buff drywall and will be the same length and height . I think it's all going to turn out pretty rockin ! Now only 5 more walls to go and then the 6 different patio displays and I'm ready for our spring selling season. I just have to keep telling myself one thing at a time or the rock yard becomes overwhelming with all the projects I have in mind. On to more domestic things... Stella got her first sewing machine for Christmas this year. We finally got a chance to bust it out and start sewing together strip of material just to get a feel for it. The sewing machine is a real beauty. This weekend Stella and I plan on hitting up JoAnne Fabric and finding some fun fabric she can start working on. I should put a disclaimer to this and say that I'm learning to sew right along with Stella. I...

Organic Cow...Mooooo

It's once again that time, time ...to buy another cow. Yup I said it....buy a cow. My parents along with their good friends are buying an " organically raised" cow and having a butcher, butcher it up into all sorts of yummy cut. It is some of the best meat around with NO additives, growth hormones or any of that other junk they feed the cows to make them grow faster to produce more meat that they put on store shelves. We are also lucky enough to have an organic farmer down the road from us that sells certified organic milk in the glass jars instead of plastic. woo- hooo GOOD STUFF

Cleaning Up The Yard....A Work In Progress!

With the weather being what it's been for the past few weeks, I've decided to take full advantage of it. I've started rearranging, cleaning, re-building, and organizing the rock yard. The rock yard is a dusty, dirty place but the rock is bright and colorful and I'm working on adding some "flair"! :) Flowers don't grow around here and I wanted something that would last all year around, solution... plastic flowers. I know what your thinking and I was thinking the same thing but that's about the only option around here. So, Stella and I this weekend went to Hobby Lobby and this is what we came up with. OK so I know they are not fresh flowers but at least it adds a little color! :) Wishing everyone a warm sunny day!
