Stone Walls, Sewing Machines and Speeding Tickets..

Today was a BEAUTIFUL day and it gave me a good opportunity to finish wall 1 of 6. This first wall is made of red drywall, it's 3 1/2 feet tall and 14 feet long. Wall two will be tumbled buff drywall and will be the same length and height. I think it's all going to turn out pretty rockin! Now only 5 more walls to go and then the 6 different patio displays and I'm ready for our spring selling season. I just have to keep telling myself one thing at a time or the rock yard becomes overwhelming with all the projects I have in mind.

On to more domestic things... Stella got her first sewing machine for Christmas this year. We finally got a chance to bust it out and start sewing together strip of material just to get a feel for it. The sewing machine is a real beauty. This weekend Stella and I plan on hitting up JoAnne Fabric and finding some fun fabric she can start working on. I should put a disclaimer to this and say that I'm learning to sew right along with Stella. Its my mom that's teaching us! THANKS MOM!

On a final note. I had to drive to Alamosa yesterday to fight a speeding ticket. It was a REALLLLY long drive and I'm thankful that I had my brother along for company and it gave us a great opportunity to catch up. We got down there at noon and waited for the judge, explained why I was caught speeding (there really was a good reason) and the DA dropped all the charges and we were on our way back home! WOO-HOO, no points, no fines just a long drive. And in case you were wondering what my reason for speeding was.... I was on a two lane highway with a speed limit of 65 and in Colorado the law states you can accelerate past the speed limit in order to pass someone. Well I got clocked at 78 in a 65 right after I had just passed someone and I hadn't had a chance to slow down yet. The kicker was that there were 4 other people that were tagged by the same cop for doing the same thing.
I have made it a goal since last year to not speed anymore and I have been really good about it. Here's to safe driving....... :)

Meaning To....

I've been meaning to post pictures of the finished wall at the office for a while now but it seems like every time I remember I'm either not near a computer or something else gets in the way. Well ...here it is, we decided not to do different patio layouts on top, those are going in a different spot but we did put some large slabs on top so we could display our furniture. Now, on to the next 1,000 different projects I have in mind for around here... only that's going to have to wait till tomorrow, the lil one is not feeling well so my mama went and picked her up from school and I'm heading to the doc with her in a few hours to get her checked out. Don't think it's anything major just chest congestion , runny nose but no fever. Nothing a little rest and TLC wont fix! I love the fact that everything is finally starting to turn green. Green makes every thing look better! :)

Ski Team!

A few weeks ago Stella started training with the Eldora Ski Team every Saturday. Now Saturday's can't come soon enough. I get up at 6 and get Stella up at 6:30 and we are out the door by 7. Usually we get up to Eldora around 8:30 after making a stop to get mama coffee and Stella and donut or two! :) By 9am Stella is ripping up the slopes with her coach (Dave) and 5 other little girls her age. She is having such a blast it's hard to believe we didn't do this sooner. I never noticed these signs before and thought it was pretty cool the ski area was showing some love to the local ski programs. Stella proceed to then inform me that they've been there for quite some time. Oops! :) Stella and two of her little ski buddies! Stella ripping up the GS course! At the end of the day which is usually at 3 all the kids have to help tear down the course. Stella is doing such an awesome job that it makes me one proud mama. Much Love!!!

on fire tonight.....
