Burke Magic!

This past weekend we got spend time in East Burke, Vermont. Although I've visited before, this time was different. We were there for Jordan's graduation from Burke Mountain Academy and as special as that was to be part of, there was some serious magic there last weekend. Vermont is beautiful in it's own right and maybe it was the right time of year or maybe it was the first time we got to spend time in the sun in a month, there was just something about it that made it extra special. The vibe, the people we got to spend time with, the milestone in life we got to witness, the intentions of the weekend, a mini vacation.....all magic!

I got to visit my first "gap". We climbed the tower at the top of Burke Mountain on Thursday from where you could see 360 degrees as far as the eye could see. Troy pointed out a geological "gap" and as silly as it sounds I had to ask him what that was. Once he pointed it out it was pretty obvious and I felt even more silly for even asking but it is definitely not something we have out west. It was about 20 miles as the crow flies from where we were so we decided to hop in the car and check it out. It's not really all that exciting to most probably because it really if just a gap in a mountain but at least I can say I've been to a gap! HA! The drive to get there was unbelievably beautiful that in of itself was great and little winding road with huge green trees everywhere took us right to it.  Here's the best part of it all...once we got there, there was a spectacular clear lake that sat right in the gap.
Breathtaking! Only wish I had my paddle board!

On to the real reason we were in Burke, JORDAN!! This smart, beautiful, strong girl graduated from high school with 16 of her classmates. Each student graduating had a few friends and family get up on the podium and speak about them. Taylor had the most insightful, funniest and most heartfelt speech about her little sister. These two girls are amazing in their own right and have big futures ahead of them. Honored to be their step-mom!

Jordan (center) and a few of her classmates all moving on to do great things in life.
Burke Mountain Academy is a very special place for kids with a very special talent to want to ski fast. There is an amazing sense of community there, a feeling and vibe I so fondly remember from my ski academy days. Troy is a graduate of Burke and it is easy to understand why Jordan chose to go there. It is truly inspiring to see these kids working so hard to not only be good ski racers but just all around awesome human beings.
Burke has magic!

Happy heart!

4 days of celebrating all culminated with a great barn party.
CONGRATULATIONS JORDAN!!!

The tower at the top of Burke, Stunning views!

Love and Gratitude!

Meaning To....

I've been meaning to post pictures of the finished wall at the office for a while now but it seems like every time I remember I'm either not near a computer or something else gets in the way. Well ...here it is, we decided not to do different patio layouts on top, those are going in a different spot but we did put some large slabs on top so we could display our furniture. Now, on to the next 1,000 different projects I have in mind for around here... only that's going to have to wait till tomorrow, the lil one is not feeling well so my mama went and picked her up from school and I'm heading to the doc with her in a few hours to get her checked out. Don't think it's anything major just chest congestion , runny nose but no fever. Nothing a little rest and TLC wont fix! I love the fact that everything is finally starting to turn green. Green makes every thing look better! :)

break #1....

Six weeks.....that's how long she has to have this thing on. It didn't happen playing pond hockey, it didn't happen skiing, it happen tripping down the sidewalk. I mean....REALLY!?!?! Much Love!

vegas....

This week has been INSANE! We are in the process of getting ready for one of our largest shows in Vegas that the boys leave for on Saturday. It's one of two shows that we do where we get to put our best foot forward and amaze all the buyers for all the boutiques that we sell to. So we have to get it right. With all the new samples that we have been getting from Peru, having to choose a new line has been tough, too many amazing choices to choose from!  Scary, but this is an alpaca sweater that we produced in the 80's and I just happend upon it while digging around in the warehouse the other day. Trust me we've had a HUGE evolution in our sweaters since then! Still fun to see!  Our new line of cottons. We've got two racks that we are sifting through to find the top 30!  On another note, check out Stella and my dad at the top of Hood with some of the CU kids. She sounds like she's having a blast! Missing her a bunch but we get to see her on Saturday. ...
