Yesterday morning we got home from two weeks in Coast Rica. Neither Troy, Stella nor I had ever been but I can tell you we will definitely go back. Such a beautiful country, great people, yummy food, kick-ass surf, and awesome sandy beaches. What's there not to love!
We started our adventure in Tamarindo. We got there right before Easter weekend, one of the busiest holiday weekends in Costa Rica. The town quickly filled up and was rockin for 3 days straight. Come Monday morning it was down right empty.
So much color, great shops, and lots of surf schools. We went to Banana Surf Club for our surf camp. Of course Stella hopped right on the board and surfed like a champ. Me not so much.....I got up a few times but after getting slammed by some big waves and swallowing a little too much water and sand I took a little break. Troy rocked it right along with Stella. I think boogie boarding is more my speed!
Our second destination was Playa Guiones in Nosara. Warm water (around 85 degrees), white sand beaches and all the fun we could have.
Kinda a new family obsession, SmashBall. We played for hours trying to beat each others scores. There will be many backyard battle this summer!!!
Stella.......
Spent lots of time relaxing and soaking in tons of vitamin D.
Only minor hiccup of the entire trip was a flat tire on the drive between Tamarindo and Nosara. Our driver Jose fixed it in a jiffy. We were in the middle of nowhere, it was super dry, dusty but still beautiful!
Family play time ROCKED!!!
Magic!
Today we hit the ground running, back to work (some big changes while I was gone, more in my next post), school and reality.
We were excited to get home, two weeks seems like a long time to be away from the Gus. He was pretty stoked to see us and we were him.
Tonight we are suppose to get a foot of snow and I kinda love that. Being in the sun and sand definitely makes the spring time snow storms a little more tolerable.
