and so it begins....again!

This weekend Stella had her first on snow training with her new team, Team Breck. Although Breckenridge was open the coaches decided it would be best to stay off the crowded one run they have open and instead train at A-Basin. Which although only has 2 runs open, it's much better snow, and has way less people there since they have been open for a few weeks already.
Saturday Stella trained from 8:30 to 12 and it was a bit snowy and cold. Sunday however was FREEZING. It was the first really cold day we've had of the season. I don't think it got over 5 degrees in the valley. Troy and I tried to take a few runs but for the most part we stayed in the lodge and watched the Brocos play while Stella and her team braved the cold and got some great training in.

This was my first time skiing at the Basin since the late 90's and not much has changed except for a great new little lodge at the mid-way station on the mountain. This lodge however, has not changed one  bit! It still has that really great "we've come to ski" vibe. No frills or fancy lodges, just people wanting to make some turns.

Stella's new boots, they've got some breaking in to do but for the most part she LOVED them! Woo hoo!

Apparently this season is all about black and pink for her.  :)

I don't think there was one girl on the team that didn't have a new POC helmet. Whatever this company is doning they are doing it right. Everyone wants one.
Stella has a great group of girls her age on the team. I have a feeling they will all be pushing each other to get down the hill the fastest. I miss that kind of competition.

Anyway, here's hoping to another great season ahead of us, with LOTS of snow and fast skis!

Love and Gratitude!

Meaning To....

I've been meaning to post pictures of the finished wall at the office for a while now but it seems like every time I remember I'm either not near a computer or something else gets in the way. Well ...here it is, we decided not to do different patio layouts on top, those are going in a different spot but we did put some large slabs on top so we could display our furniture. Now, on to the next 1,000 different projects I have in mind for around here... only that's going to have to wait till tomorrow, the lil one is not feeling well so my mama went and picked her up from school and I'm heading to the doc with her in a few hours to get her checked out. Don't think it's anything major just chest congestion , runny nose but no fever. Nothing a little rest and TLC wont fix! I love the fact that everything is finally starting to turn green. Green makes every thing look better! :)

break #1....

Six weeks.....that's how long she has to have this thing on. It didn't happen playing pond hockey, it didn't happen skiing, it happen tripping down the sidewalk. I mean....REALLY!?!?! Much Love!

vegas....

This week has been INSANE! We are in the process of getting ready for one of our largest shows in Vegas that the boys leave for on Saturday. It's one of two shows that we do where we get to put our best foot forward and amaze all the buyers for all the boutiques that we sell to. So we have to get it right. With all the new samples that we have been getting from Peru, having to choose a new line has been tough, too many amazing choices to choose from!  Scary, but this is an alpaca sweater that we produced in the 80's and I just happend upon it while digging around in the warehouse the other day. Trust me we've had a HUGE evolution in our sweaters since then! Still fun to see!  Our new line of cottons. We've got two racks that we are sifting through to find the top 30!  On another note, check out Stella and my dad at the top of Hood with some of the CU kids. She sounds like she's having a blast! Missing her a bunch but we get to see her on Saturday. ...
