HAPPY MONDAY!!  Love and Gratitude!

with a little help from my friends...

Blessed to have the friends I do.....here's to you!  Love and Gratitude.

the right thing....

Doing "the right" thing is not always the easiest thing to do (this I can attest to, I've taken the chicken route too many times), sometimes taking the path of least resistance is so much easier but in the spirit of being true to myself and my family, I'm standing up for what's right. Of course having the ones you love stand by your side, makes all the difference in the world. For that, today, I am grateful!  It's pretty simple. Right?!? Love and Gratitude!

title IX...

For the past month and half, Stella and 4 of her class mates have been studying Title IX and the impact it has on today's society in women's sports. Last night as parents we had the honor of seeing all their hard work and research put together in a fantastic presentation. It was well thought out, well researched and very well presented. They all had to dress up in their respective sports attire so of course Stella presented in her GS suite.  Did you know that the first women to run the Boston marathon was in 1974?!? And, she wore a hoody so no one would know she was a women (just one of the things we learned last night). Crazy!!! That was only 38 years ago!   The presentation was about 30 minutes long and Stella was the moderator. She ROCKED it! I think she was pretty happy it was over, she was quite nervous to speak in front of all the parents but as soon as she got up there all that fear went away.  Woo Hoo!  A little surpri...

passion or obsession?!?

I made a drive down to Denver yesterday to FINALLY pick up my Sony A55 camera from the repair shop. Oh how I've missed her. She wasn't too broken but the clip that holds the SD card was no longer working. A month later and a trip to Texas to get fixed, and she's back!  One of the passions/obsessions that Troy and I share is taking pictures. We love it so much so that we have a bit of a hard time sharing one camera. So, we have two. Troy's always been a Nikon kinda guy so he has the Nikon T3100, he use to have the D80 (which got stolen) a bit of a step down for him but I still think he takes incredible pictures, he's got amazing composition skills!  Troy did the research and the other camera (my camera) we have is the Sony A55. Voted the 2010 Camera of the Year by PopPhoto.com, a great resource website for anything and everything cameras. The one unique thing about my Sony is that it has it's stabilization within the body of the camera as oppo...

thank you...

Thankful today and everyday!  Love and Gratitude!

overplayed....

So I know Adele has been SO overplayed the last two years but........I still love her. I heard this song on one of my Pandora channels today and it made me smile. She has such depth to her voice and soul, it's simply beautiful and it's just gets better when she sings it live! Her entire album is one to listen to. Although most of her songs have such sadness and heaviness to them they always seen to put a smile on my face and make me sing at the top of my lungs (only in the car, of course, and only alone), I love it!  Hope everyone has had a fantastic Monday!  Sending out much love and gratitude.

in the moment....

Words to live by... So many great moments, minutes, hours, days, and years. Blessed At the office today, and just finishing every thing up.....with a little extra time on my hands I thought I'd send out some gratitude for all the great people in my life (that includes YOU). How lucky can one girl be! Woo hoo! It's a pizza, beer and flower planting the deck planters, kinda night. Woot! HAPPY Earth Day....HAPPY Sunday!  Love and Gratitude!!

a MUST see....

Troy and I have been waiting a few weeks for this movie to come out. Anyone who knows me, knows I'm a bit obsessed with Bob and all that he stands (stood) for. His message is truly timeless and more so then ever do they show the true human side of this man. Though not always perfect (none of us are) he spread a message of loving one another no matter what our differences.  If you get a chance, SEE THIS MOVIE. Great footage, great interviews, great stories and best of all GREAT music.  one love... Love and Gratitude.

I'm sure most everyone has seen this but i still love it. Words to live by!  Love and Gratitude!

garden beds....

Troy and I have decided to build some garden beds this year and try our hand at growing our own veggies! My parents have the veggie growing mastered and I'm hoping to learn a little from them and experiment with what grows at 10,000 feet. Now we just have to wait for the snow to stop falling!  :)  What a beautiful idea, old rain gutters! Wish we had a fence to keep all the animals out, that's the one thing that worries me. Fox, elk, bears, and all the other little critters living in the area are going to be treating themselves to all our yummy veggies!   Love these!  I think this is more what we are going for!   Here what I hope to produce!  Woo! Just took this pic from outside our window and here is what I have to wait for the disappear!  Still loving the snow!  Love and Gratitude!

It all started about a year ago with a shot of Tequila and Scorpion!   Our "official" wedding shot! My parents backyard, a sun dress and beer! smile...

Top 10 Reasons to Smile From  Mark Stibich, Ph.D. ,                   Smiling is a great way to make yourself stand out while helping your body to function better. Smile to improve your health, your stress level, and your attractiveness. Smiling is just one  fun way to live longer  read about the others and try as many as you can. 1. Smiling Makes Us Attractive We are drawn to people who smile. There is an attraction factor. We want to know a smiling person and figure out what is so good. aaaaand......we're back!

Only one word can describe this last week...... WooHooooo! Sunshine fuels my soul.  It's amazing how the right people can make or break even the simplest of journeys.  Loved the little chicken feet stamped in the concrete!  A Hurricane in one hand, my lil one in the other and my husband doing what he loves to do, taking pictures. Does it get any better?!? I want this bike!  LOVED all the street art!  Walking the art district. Even Stella enjoyed herself...WOO HOO!  WoOt. That smile says it all. While Troy's off at work and in between getting the laundry done I'm enjoying some time editing all the killer pictures we got. Happy Friday! Love and Gratitude!!

YUP, another one.....

Our days are number on the mountain. Breckenridge closes in t-minus 12 days and we'll be out of the valley for 6 of those! At least we'll still have A-Basin when we get back which will hopefully be open till July! I seriously love this time of year in Colorado. One day we'll have snow and cold temps in the teens and the next 70's and sunny! Loving it! Stella starts spring break on Friday and we're off for a week of fun in the sun! Stay tuned.....lots of pics coming!  Coaches knoll at FIS Finales, Lisa's little creation!  :)   I know this hill well but not as well as Troy-boy! He has spent some serious time here!   Another beautiful day on the hill! It doesn't get much better then this! Lovin the spring snow!  Signing off for an entire week ....ya'll have a lovely week!  Love and Gratitude!!!
