boooooo irene...

We are blessed, safe, have power, internet, and a beautiful view out the window of the falling rain. Hurricane (down graded to a tropical storm) Irene hit us early this morning. "Hit us" is maybe a bit of an over-exaggeration, but it did start raining and it hasn't stopped since. We got hit by gusts of wind and there was some carnage (fallen trees) on the roads but we definitely didn't get the worst of it.

We decided to take a drive into Plymouth (about 12 miles out of Waterville) mid-morning to grab some lunch and see what the storm was doing. Lots of wind and lots of rain and some power outages . We had a fabulous lunch and ventured back up the valley only to be stopped by the first road block. Luckily there was a way around the road block and we were well on our way. Of course we had to make a stop over all the bridges on the way up the valley and check out the raging river. It went from a slow trickle to this. The sound that was coming from the river was incredible, the boulders underneith the water were crashing into each other, it sounded like thunder. The smell of fresh, wet dirt and pine was in the air as the river swept the banks and took out lots of trees.

There was one more road block once we got home and there was the washed out bridge right behind the house so naturaly we had to check it out. I have to say mother nature did some MAJOR damage.

On a TOTAL bummer note, my mom and dad were suppose to fly in on the red-eye overnight and be here first thing tomorow morning but thanks to Irene that trip has now been cancelled. BIG BOOOO! But, their tickets were fully re-funded and they are coming out around the first week of October just in time to help us move into our new place! YAY!

Sending out much love...

Meaning To....

I've been meaning to post pictures of the finished wall at the office for a while now but it seems like every time I remember I'm either not near a computer or something else gets in the way. Well ...here it is, we decided not to do different patio layouts on top, those are going in a different spot but we did put some large slabs on top so we could display our furniture. Now, on to the next 1,000 different projects I have in mind for around here... only that's going to have to wait till tomorrow, the lil one is not feeling well so my mama went and picked her up from school and I'm heading to the doc with her in a few hours to get her checked out. Don't think it's anything major just chest congestion , runny nose but no fever. Nothing a little rest and TLC wont fix! I love the fact that everything is finally starting to turn green. Green makes every thing look better! :)

break #1....

Six weeks.....that's how long she has to have this thing on. It didn't happen playing pond hockey, it didn't happen skiing, it happen tripping down the sidewalk. I mean....REALLY!?!?! Much Love!

vegas....

This week has been INSANE! We are in the process of getting ready for one of our largest shows in Vegas that the boys leave for on Saturday. It's one of two shows that we do where we get to put our best foot forward and amaze all the buyers for all the boutiques that we sell to. So we have to get it right. With all the new samples that we have been getting from Peru, having to choose a new line has been tough, too many amazing choices to choose from!  Scary, but this is an alpaca sweater that we produced in the 80's and I just happend upon it while digging around in the warehouse the other day. Trust me we've had a HUGE evolution in our sweaters since then! Still fun to see!  Our new line of cottons. We've got two racks that we are sifting through to find the top 30!  On another note, check out Stella and my dad at the top of Hood with some of the CU kids. She sounds like she's having a blast! Missing her a bunch but we get to see her on Saturday. ...
