draft....

Last night I experienced my first ever Fantasy Football League Draft! It was pretty exciting for a Monday night. I know close to nothing about football and even less about all the players but I think I picked a pretty kick ass team (picking formula to be revealed at a later date). We have a league through ESPN so the draft was very simple and quite enjoyable, with a beer in hand of course. :) Here's the winning lineup, with a few hundred dollars on the line I know these boys are going to kick ass for me! Ha!!! QB Aaron Rodgers, GB QB P RB Darren McFadden, Oak RB P RB DeAngelo Williams, Car RB RB/ WR Steve Johnson, Buf WR WR Roddy White, Atl WR P WR Reggie Wayne, Ind WR TE Vernon Davis, SF TE D/ST Patriots D/ST D/ST K Josh Brown, StL K BENCH SLOT PLAYER, TEAM POS ACTION Bench Reggie Bush, Mia RB Bench Chad Ochocinco , NE WR Bench Lee Evans, Bal WR Q Bench C.J. Spiller, Buf RB Bench Ricky Williams, Bal RB Bench Sidney Rice, Sea WR P Bench M...

love this...

Didn't get to watch most of the VMA's but went back and watched all the performances online with Stella and we both LOVED this version of Valerie performed by Bruno Mars. I loved the version Amy Winehouse use to sing and thought this was a great tribute to her. Stella and I were definitely shaking our booties to it. We also loved Adele's live performance. Having a craving for some really great live music, it's been too long.... Bruno Mars - Amy Winehouse Medley/ Valerie (Live) : Bruno Mars Performs "Amy Winehouse Medley/ Valerie" Live at the 2011 VMA's Sending out love....

blink...

Picked this out of Troy's library the other day and just finished it. It's a quick and easy read. Review: Blink is Gladwell's attempt to point out plainly and clearly what is going on behind the curtain in our minds. Our conscious overt decision making mind takes place "on stage" or in front of a mental curtin behind which lies the unconscious. And this book shows that the unconscious is far more powerful than most of us give it credit. This book makes for a very enjoyable and illuminating read, full of fascinating ideas and information. There is no explicit theory that Gladwell relies on, and neither does the book make any clear cut conclusions. This however should not be looked upon as a flaw-rather that Gladwell's sheer enthusiasm for genuine discovery and making these ideas accessible, makes this an extremely gratifying book to read. Gladwell is an immensely gifted writer, and his narrative skills are superb. This book is definitely worth a read.

boooooo irene...

We are blessed, safe, have power, internet , and a beautiful view out the window of the falling rain. Hurricane (down graded to a tropical storm) Irene hit us early this morning. "Hit us" is maybe a bit of an over-exaggeration , but it did start raining and it hasn't stopped since. We got hit by gusts of wind and there was some carnage (fallen trees) on the roads but we definitely didn't get the worst of it. We decided to take a drive into Plymouth (about 12 miles out of Waterville ) mid-morning to grab some lunch and see what the storm was doing. Lots of wind and lots of rain and some power outages . We had a fabulous lunch and ventured back up the valley only to be stopped by the first road block. Luckily there was a way around the road block and we were well on our way. Of course we had to make a stop over all the bridges on the way up the valley and check out the raging river. It went from a slow trickle to this. The sound that was coming from the river was in...

the good life...

Today we ventured out through the Frankonian Notch and onto Mt. Washington and the Mt. Washington Hotel. Funny, we don't have notch's out west. It was a first for me today! For those of you that have been to the Stanley Hotel (impressive as it is) this hotel is the Stanley on steroids . It is absolutely beautiful and very historic. For a brief history lesson on the hotel, click here ! A lovely drink and laugh on the deck! Bliss! Stella ran around and explored for a little but then, of course, she had to pose for a photo opp!Love this kid, love my husband and love this life. The grounds are beautifully manicured. There are two golf courses and Brentton Woods ski area across the street. We'll definitely be making some overnight trips here in the near future. Much Love!

sunshine...

Summer is slowly slipping away, but luckily we've had the opportunity to get some HUGE doses of vitamin D. I can't tell you how much sunshine fuels my soul! Meet Trent, he's my new buddy and the son of my childhood friend Taryn! We had hours of fun swimming in the river. I've never seen clearer water in a river. Nice cold water on a hot sunny day! Love it! Last stop of the day, another dip in the pond before we got home. Did you know , New Hampshire is know as the land granite?!?....for those of you that know my love for rocks, I'm diggin this polace.  Oh and it's also known as the "live free or die" state, I love that slogan! Ha! Sending much love...

change, already.....?!?

I have yet to experience the turning of leaves in the fall in New England, but I hear from people that it is absolutely amazing. I was driving with Stella down the valley yesterday and even though everything is still VERY green we ran into a little red. Out of miles and miles of green trees there was this little splash. What made this little leaf turn early? Fall is upon us, it's getting a bit chilly in the evening and in the mornings . So ready for it! :) Sending out much Wednesday love...

trying...

Yup, trying to get back in the game, that of course being the "game" of getting my booty back into kick ass shape again. We have a great little gym "club" that we belong to with everything (well almost everything) you could ever want to use for working out. Stella is hell bent on working out everyday so she can be ready for ski season. She's a strong, lean very fit little girl and soon I will be too (minus the little girl part) :). Lots-o-core work! Stella stretching! It's not easy, but feels sooooo good! An update on the home front....found a G R E A T condo, 3 bedroom, plus a loft, 2 1/2 bathrooms, and A M A Z I N G huge windows looking out onto Waterville ski area! Woo!!! We move in October 1st. Oh, and another really great thing, mom and dad are coming to hang with us next week. Ahhhh , life is good! Much love...

back in the game.....

Playing tennis again and it feels so good. Stella and I went to hit balls against the "wall" a few days ago and although I haven't really played in about 10 years, it was like ridding a bike! Clay courts about 100 yards from our house! So cool! With the ski area in the back drop, I was getting my swing on! So blessed to be in such an amazing spot. Who would have thunk the east coast could be so great! Ha! Much love..

internet....

Woo hoo, the internet is finally back up and running at our place. With a week long hiatus there is a bunch to catch up on. Troy finally got back from Chile last Saturday so Stell and I ventured into Boston for a fun morning hanging out in Quincy Market and the peirs again. After giving Troy a few days to decompress after traveling and being on the road for two weeks we decided to take a day and head to one of the MANY lakes here in New Hampshire. We did Lake Winnapasaki! It was fabulous. Stella soaking in the sunshine! A little fish, loving the water! After hours of laying out, throwing around the fisbee, and tossing the ball around in the water we went to one of the many resturants on the borad walk. Stella hit the arcades while Troy and I grabbed an ice cold beer! It's so great to have Troy back home and getting settled into a daily routine. Stella is registered for school which starts in a little over two weeks and I think we finally found a place to call home. Life is ...

new ipad app...

With Troy out of town, I've had a little extra time to play. I found a new app sitting by the pool the other day while Stella was swimming. It's a silly little app but it makes sending out pictures pretty fun! Much Summer Love!

katie daisy...

I got this happy little print today for Stella's room. Don't have a particular spot for it just yet but I figured since it's only 8x11 (a little larger once it's framed)it could go just about anywhere! Check out Katie Daisy ! Love her stuff, lots of color! Lots of love!

old skool, morning jam...

Ha! That's what Stella called this song while we were shaking our booties to it this morning while cleaning up. If this is old school then I'm ancient! :) Much Love!

camera...

I was browsing Etsy this morning looking for some camera accessories . A new bag and a new camera strap is what I'm looking for. Still haven't found exactly what I have in mind but I think I'm getting close. I found this as an interesting substitute for a bag. Not for me but a great idea! There are so many cool and creative things on Etsy . And, of course it's so easy to get side tracked and get hooked into finding other things that you probably don't really need but are fun to look at. From Ipad covers to wall decorations for Stella's new room..... the endless possibilities! It's rainy and a bit chilly in the valley this morning so Stella and I are hanging out at the house, putsing around. Heading to the gym in a little bit for a swim. Sending out much Wednesday LOVE!

missing....

Getting settled in Waterville and life is great. There are a few things pulling at my heart strings and it's these guys (below), oh and Teddy too! We talk about every other day and thanks to my iphone and Skype I'm getting tons of pics and videos to them. *sigh* :) I know we'll all see each other soon, and this experience thus far has been really great for Stella and I and our new little family but I miss them! :) *LoVe * Happy girl, anoyed that I keep taking pictures.....Stella at the beach by town square about 2 blocks from the house. After camp ended today we had a date night. Just us two. Troy, Taylor and Jordan are still in Chile and we're missing them like crazy too! Again, I can't thank Skype enough! :) With the weekend coming up Stella and I plan on soaking up some sunshine on the beach and swimming in the lake, getting a weeks load of laundry done and most importantly relaxing. We've been go, go, go all week. Sending out some much ...

an end, to the week...

We have had such a fun, busy week, but I'm glad it's come to an end. Stella this week, was involved with the WVBBTS ( Waterville Valley Black and Blue Trail Bashers ) dryland camp. A full week of working out from morning till night. It was awesome! She got to meet a ton of kids that she'll be on the ski team with this year. She made a bunch of new BFF's within the first hour, it was great to see her make some new friends and one of the best parts....mama got to work out ALL week! woo- hoo ! The last day of the camp was a kids triathlon . Stella did pretty well. It was a hoot to watch! A group shot to finish out the camp! Now it's time for a little R&R. Sitting by the pool, taking in the sunshine and date night tonight with the little one. Happy Friday Y'All !!! Much Love!
