the sound of sunshine....

Stella LOVES this song. We were in the kitchen this morning shaking our booties to this song while getting ready for school and work. Spring is here and I'm ready for a HUGE dose of sunshine! much love.

spring break....

Stella and I got a much needed break last week! She was on spring break and got to spend the first part of her week off with grandma and grandpa Larsen. After a few days with them she got to spend a morning and afternoon with my dad checking out the pirate exhibit ( argh ) at the museum of nature and science.....then finally we were off to the mountains for 3 1/2 days of relaxing and fun......and of course that included some skiing!!! Stella kicking back at the top of the mountain! Bliss! 3 days was just enough to recharge my batteries. much spring time love....

so much better....

The grumpy, un-comfy , yet pretty red couches are FINALLY gone!!! They were like a Monet, pretty from afar but pretty darn yucky up close. They were a very temporary addition to the house until I found the right ones. I couldn't really find any good old pics of the red couches, maybe there is a reason for that!?! :) The new comfy, happy, soft, deep couches and a new coffee table to match the TV stand! Woo hoo !!! much tuesday love....

way of the peaceful warrior...

I picked this book up a few years ago (3 to be exact) and just re-read the book this week. After re-reading it, I realized that I have been seeing the world in a completely different way... that I have been learning to "let things go" to have fewer expectations from life and enjoying more what life is giving me. And through consciousness these changes will continue and refine themselves in the years to come. Of course a portion of these changes are due to simply maturing and evolving as a person, as most of us hope to do (or so I would like to think). The book however set me on a path for who I am and who I am to become as time goes on. For some this book resonates on a deep level for some and others, they see only the words, or so I have found through a very recent girls night out and a discussion on the book. This is not to put value judgements on "getting it" or "not getting it". This book is only one of the paths that leads to wherever it is that we a...

keep an eye on the moon this weekend...

http://www.cnn.com/2011/US/03/18/nasa.moon/ (CNN) -- If the moon looks a little bit bigger and brighter this weekend, there's a reason for that. It is. Saturday's full moon will be a super "perigee moon" -- the biggest in almost 20 years. This celestial event is far rarer than the famed blue moon, which happens once about every two-and-a-half years. "The last full moon so big and close to Earth occurred in March of 1993," said Geoff Chester with the U.S. Naval Observatory in Washington. "I'd say it's worth a look." Full moons look different because of the elliptical shape of the moon's orbit. When it's at perigee, the moon is about 31,000 miles (50,000 km) closer to Earth than when it's at the farthest point of its orbit, also known as apogee. "Nearby perigee moons are about 14% bigger and 30% brighter than lesser moons that occur on the apogee side of the moon's orbit," the NAS...

Good Life

A friend emailed this to me this morning, made me smile so I thought I'd share! This is a good (great) life! much love....

dramatic....

Stella has a flair for the dramatics. So, naturally she loves and is great in drama club. It's every week after school and they are in the process of a huge production. Stella has a substantial role and is getting to do a ton of behind the scenes work. Can't wait to see the show! Stella and Mollie goofing around in my closet! She's growing up so fast it's scary! Much Tuesday Love!

this morning...

Ah- mazing sunrise this morning....what a way to start off the week! Looking up towards Button Rock! Blessed!

what a weekend...

Stella had training on Saturday (as usual) and I got to make a few turns with a good friend! The snow was hard and my ski were dull so it made for a bit of a challenge but we still had a pretty good time (minus a grumpy ski patroler )! ;) Stella trained GS on Shoot in the afternoon and I waited around nervously to get word from back east on how the CU Buffs ended up! Victory! Stella and her team. This little group of girls rip thanks to Elizabeth their coach! Sunday was another ski day at Eldo, this time with the girls, Mollie, Stella, Heather and Katie. Mollie and her girlfriends came into town on Firday night, and after a great dinner out Saturday night, Sunday we hit the mountian. I haven't skied with Mollie in 15 years! Besides the snow being aweful, heavy and wet. We had a pretty great time! Sending out much Monday LOVE...

10 seconds....5, 4, 3, 2, 1, GO!

I try and help when I can, and this weekend was no exception. Eldora Ski Team hosted a local FIS race at Eldora and I got to help by being the starter. I got to see some old faces and play catch up which is always fun, but best of all I got to watch some ski racing first hand which was even better! My post for most of Saturday. L uckily we were further down the run and in the trees (away from the wind) for all of the slalom race on Sunday. Never a lack of views from the top of the mountain. We probably could have done with out the wind but that's always to be expected at Eldora ! I have to say, my family and I are blessed to have such great support and friendship the EMSC club. Sending out MUCH Monday Love!

kick-ass cold (flu) remedy...

Oscillococcinum is a homeopathic combination that safely and effectively provides natural relief from symptoms that are most commonly associated with the flu including fever, body aches, chills and aches. For temporary relief of symptoms of flu such as fever, chills, body aches and pains. Homeopathic Medicine. No side effects. Oscillococcinum is an anomaly in the homeopathic materia medica because it is one of the relatively few proprietary preparations. The name is registered by Boiron.Scarcely known to the English-speaking world, it is one of the most widely used and popular homeopathic medicines in France. But even in France it is anomalous. It is the only homeopathic medicine authorized for routine production in France in a dilution above the 30c, and by the Korsakovian method. All other homeopathic medicines in France are prepared by the Hahnemannian method, in potencies not exceeding 30c, although higher dilutions may be prepared on a named patient basis. The Korsakovian dilution...
