Eldora Invests In Skier Experience, Snow Surface....

Check out this article..... I was interviewed by a friend a few weeks ago!

Eldora pledges to enhance the skier experience as their primary focus for the upcoming 2010-11 ski season. The resort is looking to capitalize on another snowy winter after receiving well over their annual 300 inches of snowfall last season.

Making the learning facilities more beginner friendly is Eldora's key element in introducing new skiers and snowboarders to the sport. They began by removing two lower mountain chairlifts, Tenderfoot 1 and Tenderfoot 2, and replacing them with a magic carpet. The new "lift" will facilitate beginning skiers and riders in getting up the mountain for the first time without having to load a chairlift.

The magic carpet will be usable year round. Hikers, bikers, and other summer visitors will be able to park at the base Eldora, and within steps, load the Tenderfoot lift.

Experienced guests can take advantage of improved gladed skiing this winter. Crews have spent the summer thinning trees within the expert skiing areas. Tree removal will result in more spacious skiing within this terrain.

"For a little [ski] area it's got a great diversity in terrain," says Linda Rokos of Boulder, Colo.

Two new snow cats cap off Eldora's endeavors to improve their guests' overall experience. The cats will increase grooming capabilities as well as improve the quality of the snow surfaces. The resort already claims to have one of Colorado's best snowmaking systems, claiming100 percent of groomed terrain; more than any other resort in Colorado.

Meaning To....

I've been meaning to post pictures of the finished wall at the office for a while now but it seems like every time I remember I'm either not near a computer or something else gets in the way. Well ...here it is, we decided not to do different patio layouts on top, those are going in a different spot but we did put some large slabs on top so we could display our furniture. Now, on to the next 1,000 different projects I have in mind for around here... only that's going to have to wait till tomorrow, the lil one is not feeling well so my mama went and picked her up from school and I'm heading to the doc with her in a few hours to get her checked out. Don't think it's anything major just chest congestion , runny nose but no fever. Nothing a little rest and TLC wont fix! I love the fact that everything is finally starting to turn green. Green makes every thing look better! :)

break #1....

Ski Team!

A few weeks ago Stella started training with the Eldora Ski Team every Saturday. Now Saturday's can't come soon enough. I get up at 6 and get Stella up at 6:30 and we are out the door by 7. Usually we get up to Eldora around 8:30 after making a stop to get mama coffee and Stella and donut or two! :) By 9am Stella is ripping up the slopes with her coach (Dave) and 5 other little girls her age. She is having such a blast it's hard to believe we didn't do this sooner. I never noticed these signs before and thought it was pretty cool the ski area was showing some love to the local ski programs. Stella proceed to then inform me that they've been there for quite some time. Oops! :) Stella and two of her little ski buddies! Stella ripping up the GS course! At the end of the day which is usually at 3 all the kids have to help tear down the course. Stella is doing such an awesome job that it makes me one proud mama. Much Love!!!
