Here We Go....

With Spring here, Mom, Dad and I have started working on the landscaping part of the house. The facade of the house and the deck are going to get done once my dad comes back from his Spring trip to Europe which he leaves for in a few days and come back after a few weeks.

Back to the landscaping....

We started with pulling out these railroad ties hold up a dilapidated retaining wall. Thanks to the Bobcat and my dads mad skills in it, it was done in no time! Demo is always fun!

Yeah I got in the Bobcat too, but dad is definitely the Bobcat Master! :)


Thanks to the quarry up above my parents house we are going to have a beautiful red granite wall! And yes, the house will hopefully soon be a different color too!

When I got home from work today, Mom and Dad had already started setting the foundation rocks of the wall. I hopped into my work clothes when I got home and we continued where they'd left off.
Stella thought it would be really funny to take a picture of my butt sticking out while I was holding up a rock. I guess here's my shout out to Carhartts! ;)

Weekend Madness!!

WHEW!!!! What a weekend! We got so much work done on the house! We started on Friday and worked pretty much straight through till tonight. With the exception of one little break for a small Halloween party for a few hours. The old kitchen counters. Ewww ! All the tile on the counters couldn't be pulled off without pulling all the plywood up so we decided to demolish it all and start fresh. We put down all new sub-flooring before the tile was to go down. It was kinda a pain in the butt but it made the tile laying much easier and level. With all the sub-flooring laid on Saturday, it was finally time to lay the tile today! Tuesday the grout gets put in and by Thursday we should be walking on it. Woot ! This weekend I also got Stella's room finally done. The colors look great. It's going to be a very warm and cozy room. Pictures of that soon! here we go...

Tomorrow starts day one of our three day juice fast. After three days we move on to a 15 day juicing/dinner program. We've been doing research online and upon some recommendations we've settled on the RebootYourLife program. You can check them out here:  http://www.jointhereboot.com/  If this looks and sounds familiar you might recognize this program from the movie Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead. We haven't seen the movie but I've heard many great things. Change.....

It's time for a change.  I've been wanting to switch blog platforms for quite sometime and just wasn't finding the right one but thanks to a dear friend of mine I was turned onto squarespace. It's taken a minute or two to figure out this new platform but I'm loving it. I've imported all the old content from this blog and am ready to roll. In short, I've moved to a new neighborhood!!! Woot!  I'm humbled that even one person reads my ramblings but when my numbers started hitting the 1000's on a monthly basis I was blown away.
