Jimmy!

Last Wednesday 2/10/2010 Jimmy passed away. His passing came 46yrs to the day of winning his Olympic medal..
Jimmy Heuga was know for his Olympic medal, for his huge advances in research and living with MS, amongst many many more accomplishments. But most of all Jimmy was known for his killer smile and his enormous spirit. No matter how bad of a day Jimmy was having, he always had that smile on.

Jimmy in 64.

I was lucky enough to take Jimmy as my date to the '08 CU Ski Team Ball. Wilder (his son, pictured above) met us there for a few twirls around the dance floor.
I have many great memories of Jimmy and will never forget his legendary stories. I consider myself unbelievably lucky and blessed to have had even just the little time I did have with him.
My parents and I made the drive up to Vail yesterday for Jimmy's funeral and memorial service. Although it was unbelievably sad we all left with a feeling of being enormously blessed to have known such a great spirit.

SO much to be thankful for but looking ahead I'm ready to kick some booty in 2014.  We got the chance to spend the holidays with family and I hope you all got to do the same! We've been on the go-go-go schedule so it was nice to slow things down a bit and enjoy each others company. I feel like there is so much to catch up on in the last few weeks but it seems like it's best to just move forward!!! Lots to look forward to in the next few weeks of the new year, Stella has her first race coming up this weekend, a race the following weekend and to add to the mix I have two of our largest shows of the year coming up for work. Flying by the seat of our pants..........Woot! Christmas Day skiing has turned into one of my most favorite family traditions!!   ....and of course Christmas Eve with the family is always great too!!!! It's so rare that we end up at the same mountain (not on a race ...
