Movie Night!

Saturday night, after a full day of skiing, swimming and Chinese take out, Stella and I snuggled in for movie night. On menu this time was the movie Fame! Unfortunately I fell asleep but Stella said the movie ROCKED!!! Thank goodness for Netflix !!! Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!! Much Love!

Music,,,,

Stella and I always jam on the way up to swim team practice. This Friday was no different. Stella had a swim meet, and so did mama. I didn't realize I missed competing so much. Stella's swim team organized a parents meet along with the kids regular meet. I swam the 50 back stroke sprint, 50 freestyle sprint and the 50 breast stroke sprint. I won two of the three!! Woot ! I had an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction off the blocks in the 50 freestyle and no, it had nothing to do with my bathing suit ....my goggles came off as I dove into the watter. I did beat all the other moms and dads in the breast and back stroke. Maybe it's time to get into some masters swim team competitions? Nothing like a little Miley Cyrus to get us hoppin for the meet! :) Stella swam all 4 events, breast, back, free and fly. She won 2, was 2 nd in one and we're still working on getting our fly stroke together. (She can kick my butt in it, it's a really freakin tough stroke) What a fun nig...

Ski Team!

A few weeks ago Stella started training with the Eldora Ski Team every Saturday. Now Saturday's can't come soon enough. I get up at 6 and get Stella up at 6:30 and we are out the door by 7. Usually we get up to Eldora around 8:30 after making a stop to get mama coffee and Stella and donut or two! :) By 9am Stella is ripping up the slopes with her coach (Dave) and 5 other little girls her age. She is having such a blast it's hard to believe we didn't do this sooner. I never noticed these signs before and thought it was pretty cool the ski area was showing some love to the local ski programs. Stella proceed to then inform me that they've been there for quite some time. Oops! :) Stella and two of her little ski buddies! Stella ripping up the GS course! At the end of the day which is usually at 3 all the kids have to help tear down the course. Stella is doing such an awesome job that it makes me one proud mama. Much Love!!!

Winter Wonderland!

Last Sunday we got a ton of fresh new snow. Stella was praying for a snow day on Monday but with no luck had to wake up and go to school in the morning. I anxiously waited for her to get home and as soon as she did we bundled up and hoped on the 4 wheeler and the sled and started hauling up and down Cheyenne Rd until there was almost no light left. Such a fun afternoon! Dad even got in on the fun in the snow and hoped in his Bobcat and started moving around snow. Stella at the top of the road, ready to cruise down. Even Teddy joined in and chased Stella up and down the hill. Sending out much love!

Into the wall....

Stella and I headed up to Estes a little early the other night before swim practice to make a run at the grocery store. We stopped in the parking lot at the local Safeway and looked up at the National Park and there were some amazing clouds rolling over the peaks. I guess I took this picture because I was feeling very blessed at the moment to live in such a beautiful place! Not a great picture, taken from my cell, but if you look close you can see the clouds rolling over the hills. On the drive from the grocery store to the pool, a quick snapshot of the Stanley. Stella and Piper before practice. A little update on Stella's swimming. She been kicking some major booty. This last week they've been working on swimming into the wall and not swimming and stopping before they reach the wall. This has been helping her flips turns at the wall immensely . To say the least, she's been doing awesome and with ski team practice on Saturdays this kiddo has been one busy girl. Sending out ...

Jimmy!

Last Wednesday 2/10/2010 Jimmy passed away. His passing came 46yrs to the day of winning his Olympic medal. . Jimmy Heuga was know for his Olympic medal, for his huge advances in research and living with MS, amongst many many more accomplishments. But most of all Jimmy was known for his killer smile and his enormous spirit. No matter how bad of a day Jimmy was having, he always had that smile on. Jimmy in 64. I was lucky enough to take Jimmy as my date to the '08 CU Ski Team Ball. Wilder (his son, pictured above) met us there for a few twirls around the dance floor. I have many great memories of Jimmy and will never forget his legendary stories. I consider myself unbelievably lucky and blessed to have had even just the little time I did have with him. My parents and I made the drive up to Vail yesterday for Jimmy's funeral and memorial service. Although it was unbelievably sad we all left with a feeling of being enormously blessed to have known such a great spirit.

Olympic Spirit!

Can you feel it? Waiting for the opening ceremonies to start. I am sooooooo excited!

Spreadin' the Love....

Stella had her Valentines Day party at school today. Always a fun time!!! Stella and her BFF Juliana! After playing a game of water polo during swim practice after the party! Stella opening all her goodies! Sending out much love! Linda and Stella!

An electrician I am not but, it the last few weeks I've been replacing some of the outlets in the house. It's amazing how updating a simple outlet makes a room look better! Who would have thought? Old, grumpy outlet! New, slick and clean outlets..... yay . I've electrocuted myself a few times but it's been well worth it. Hope everyone is doing well. Sending much love and more posts to follow soon!!!
