lightheaded....

Another long day is done. Today we got the new wood burning stove in, the hardwood floors have their first coat of sealer on them and more of the property is mowed. I spoke with the Eddie (the drywall guy) and he's coming up tomorrow to check out the house and see how quick he can get the two rooms done (Stella's and the guest bedroom). Hopefully it will be the end of this week or the beginning of next week and then the new carpet and whoa-la, those are checked off the list.

OUT with the old (ewww)....

In with the new. Eventually there will be a new flagstone hearth under this bad boy but for now the tiles will stay.

Me, giving the floors one last wipe down before we started sealing them. The sealer was toxic and I'm a quite lightheaded from sniffing fumes for half the night but at least the first coat is done, only two more to go.

First coat on, and new fire place in.....now only two more coats and some fresh paint on the walls.

Another big project for next week. THE KITCHEN. It's hard to tell from the picture but the walls are (like the rest of the house) Pepto pink and the cabinets have a god-awful faux finish on them. We are going to try and go for a modern French Country with a twist, look in here. It's small so we are going to make it lighter but with a splash of fun colors. If it works out, it will look good, I hope! :)

Last but not least a goofy little picture of Stella and I right before bed time tonight. We both had a long day and my mom was kind enough to take her to swimming tonight while I worked at the house.

Tired BUT happy! :)

Meaning To....

I've been meaning to post pictures of the finished wall at the office for a while now but it seems like every time I remember I'm either not near a computer or something else gets in the way. Well ...here it is, we decided not to do different patio layouts on top, those are going in a different spot but we did put some large slabs on top so we could display our furniture. Now, on to the next 1,000 different projects I have in mind for around here... only that's going to have to wait till tomorrow, the lil one is not feeling well so my mama went and picked her up from school and I'm heading to the doc with her in a few hours to get her checked out. Don't think it's anything major just chest congestion , runny nose but no fever. Nothing a little rest and TLC wont fix! I love the fact that everything is finally starting to turn green. Green makes every thing look better! :)

break #1....

Six weeks.....that's how long she has to have this thing on. It didn't happen playing pond hockey, it didn't happen skiing, it happen tripping down the sidewalk. I mean....REALLY!?!?! Much Love!

vegas....

This week has been INSANE! We are in the process of getting ready for one of our largest shows in Vegas that the boys leave for on Saturday. It's one of two shows that we do where we get to put our best foot forward and amaze all the buyers for all the boutiques that we sell to. So we have to get it right. With all the new samples that we have been getting from Peru, having to choose a new line has been tough, too many amazing choices to choose from!  Scary, but this is an alpaca sweater that we produced in the 80's and I just happend upon it while digging around in the warehouse the other day. Trust me we've had a HUGE evolution in our sweaters since then! Still fun to see!  Our new line of cottons. We've got two racks that we are sifting through to find the top 30!  On another note, check out Stella and my dad at the top of Hood with some of the CU kids. She sounds like she's having a blast! Missing her a bunch but we get to see her on Saturday. ...
