Hardwood...

Whew! What a weekend! Friday we had our closing and in true fashion Stella and I got to celebrate with some of our favorite people! We had a slow start on Saturday but once I got to the house I started cleaning in full force. I don't understand how some people live in such filth. That aside, I got a good start on Saturday and got most of the house as about as clean as it's going to get. Some of the walls are being replaced, all the floors are being redone, and all the carpet is being tossed and fresh, clean new carpet is going in. So, with all the upcoming construction it was pointless to make the house perfect.
This morning we got an early start on the house, at 7:30 we were already bustin butt. Today's project was to get all the hardwood floors sanded down so we could stain them hopefully tomorrow night. We had a little extra help, Randy and Espen came up and lent a hand for a few hours which was GREATLY appreciated. Aside from the hardwoods we got the water turned on and found out a new hot water heater is going to have to be put in. Boo, but I guess that's part if the game. Hopefully we don't run into too many of those bumps in the road. Today was just day one on MANY, MANY more hard working days ahead of us. Bring it! :)

Here is a before picture with the old stove still in and the nasty hardwoods floor.

You wouldn't believe how heavy this thing is, and just to make it a little heavier, notice the piece of flagstone on the front of it to give it a little more weight. We really had to get down a few layers to get to the nice wood.

Before and after. We're going to use a clear coat of sealer so the wood stays light

First thing this morning I hung a few wall color paint samples. I have an idea of what colors I would like but I'm still deciding. The one thing I do know is that the Pepto pink has got to go!

This is one of the two beams in the house. Dad started stripping it today. As you can see the hardwoods are done and the beam still needs some finishing but all in all today was a great day. We all busted ass and it paid off.
Thank you to Babi, Deda, Randy, Espen and Stella for the help today!
Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!
Much Love!

Meaning To....

I've been meaning to post pictures of the finished wall at the office for a while now but it seems like every time I remember I'm either not near a computer or something else gets in the way. Well ...here it is, we decided not to do different patio layouts on top, those are going in a different spot but we did put some large slabs on top so we could display our furniture. Now, on to the next 1,000 different projects I have in mind for around here... only that's going to have to wait till tomorrow, the lil one is not feeling well so my mama went and picked her up from school and I'm heading to the doc with her in a few hours to get her checked out. Don't think it's anything major just chest congestion , runny nose but no fever. Nothing a little rest and TLC wont fix! I love the fact that everything is finally starting to turn green. Green makes every thing look better! :)

break #1....

Six weeks.....that's how long she has to have this thing on. It didn't happen playing pond hockey, it didn't happen skiing, it happen tripping down the sidewalk. I mean....REALLY!?!?! Much Love!

2013.......

Aaahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!  What a spectacular, awesome, fantastic year. SO much to be thankful for but looking ahead I'm ready to kick some booty in 2014.  We got the chance to spend the holidays with family and I hope you all got to do the same! We've been on the go-go-go schedule so it was nice to slow things down a bit and enjoy each others company. I feel like there is so much to catch up on in the last few weeks but it seems like it's best to just move forward!!! Lots to look forward to in the next few weeks of the new year, Stella has her first race coming up this weekend, a race the following weekend and to add to the mix I have two of our largest shows of the year coming up for work. Flying by the seat of our pants..........Woot! Christmas Day skiing has turned into one of my most favorite family traditions!!   ....and of course Christmas Eve with the family is always great too!!!! It's so rare that we end up at the same mountain (not on a race ...
