It's A Start...

Stella and I started painting Easter eggs this evening. We didn't get too far, we still have about 8 eggs to go but with homework, dinner and other things it didn't leave us much time tongiht but there is always tomorrow! The cool thing about these eggs is that they are from our own chickens! :) Hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far.... Much Love!

Berthoud Pass....

Last Saturday I dropped Stella off at the airport for a few days of vacation at her dad's in Seattle. I got her on the plane and I was off to the mountains. Berthoud Pass to be exact on my way to Winter Park for a few days. I met up with my good friend DB on the pass and we hiked up the top and then dropped in on some fresh, white, fluffy snow. We skied from the top of the pass all the way to the bottom on a trail called 7 mile. It was a beautiful, sunny, bluebird Colorado day. Could have done without the wind but REALLY who could complain on a day like we had! A shot from the top of where we dropped in looking back down the pass. This is a pic taken looking the other way down the pass. We dropped in to the right of the shoots in the tree line. The steeps didn't last long and I wish we could have gotten about 30 more turns on the steeps but we ended up under the shoots and it was pretty flat skiing from there. Still... what fun!!! Love making fresh tracks! Much Love!

So Simple, But So Yummy!

1 cup sugar 2 cup flour 1 stick slated butter 1 tbsp baking powder 2 eggs 3/4 cup milk any type of fruit (strawberries, blueberries, pineapple ... etc ) In a large bowl mix together the sugar, flour and the butter. Kneed together with hands until crumbles form. Take a small cup, and put aside a cup of crumbles. Then into the bowl mix in the milk, eggs and baking powder. Pour the mix into a non-stick pan, put a layer of fruit on and top it of with sprinkling the crumbs over that. Put into the oven for 30 minutes at 350 and whoa-la!!! Yummy, yummy coffee cake!

Here Today, Gone Tomorrow....

Yesterday was sunny, warm and things were starting to turn green, almost ALL the snow was gone and this morning Stella and I wake up, and this is what we opened the door to. 6 inches of fresh white stuff. Spring break started a day early this year. We called the school and sure enough ....school was canceled. Apparently up in Estes they got over a foot. Full on blizzard conditions. Woo- hoo . Much Snow Lovin !

Planets...

Tonight Stella had her 4 th grade musical. It was based on their study of the planets this school year. It was her best school program yet. The kids really put together an awesome program, and with how much effort they put into it, it really showed!! The set. Stella was so nervous before her play. It was so cute! Stella and one of her BFF's rapping about the stars! :) The kids were adorable! Stella and one of her buddies Lucas after the show. We were lucky to have Grandma and Grandpa Larsen come to the musical along with Babi and I. I'll post some video in the next few days after I get some time to upload them, but now it's off to sleepy, we have to get up extra early tomorrow morning because it's funky hair day. :) Much Love!

This Is Why I Love Colorado....

Woke up this morning with a smile on, knowing it was going to be a beautiful day. Nothing brightens the soul like a huge dose of sunshine. I'm currently sitting out on the roof top of a house in Pinewood Springs, working on a spread sheet (YUCK).....but soaking up as much sunshine as possible. Today's forecast.... Sunshine continues into today and winds out of the west will warm us up even more!High temperatures will be well above average, reaching the upper 60s and low 70s. The above image is why I truly LOVE Colorado. Sunshine and bright today and snow tomorrow! It doesn't get any better. Sending out much sunshine LOVE!!

House keeping...

Its been a really long time since I've posted pictures of the house. Slowly but surely it's all coming together and more then ever it feels like home, our home! The snow is finally melting outside (even though I'm sure we'll still get more snow) and it's feeling like spring and it's really getting me excited for all the landscaping projects we have planned and giving the outside of the house a major face-lift. One of my favorite things about this house is that the kitchen, dining and living room are all one big open space. The opposite view from the living room to the kitchen! Pictures of grandma and her skis! Last Wednesday night Tommy came up for dinner and it was my first official little dinner party at the house. I don't have a dishwasher so is how the dishes end up clean and dry. Takes a little getting use to and luckily I'm a fan of doing dishes! Hope everyone is doing well! Dreaming of spring.....much love!

AR Goal!!!

Stella has been reading her little butt off to reach her AR goal at school. Yesterday she did it!!! With two more weeks to go, she's going to go above and beyond her goal!! With no cable at the house and only one tv in the house which is currently in my bedroom, it's given us a break from all those types of distractions. We've both been taking lots of time to read. I'm diving into books that have been stacking up next to my bed, that I've been meaning to read for a very long time! Geronimo Silton books are her favorite! Proud of my little girl! Much Love!

Jewels, PJ's and Wine....Oh My!

My friend Amy (a local Pinewoodian) came over last night for our weekly catch up. After putting the kids to bed she comes over and we sit, catch up and drink some wine! Amy is an artist, she creates some really beautiful jewelry amongst many other things. Yesterday we dove into her inventory of jewels and let me tell you I wanted almost every piece that she brought over! Of course we do girls night in our pj's! Don't knock it until you've tried it! I was skeptical at first and although it's not wine for a dinner party, it's great for a girls night! One of my favorites! Garnets! Amy Craig Designs......you should check it out!!! All the pretty colors.... off to Botanical Gardens. Grateful for friends like Amy. Sending out much love....
